We are the Flamms: Christy, Tom and Ashley.
We have been raising alpacas which way to look . . to the lake to see the ducks, or at the alpaca herd pronking across the fields.

Alpaca Fleece
Alpaca fleece is shorn off the alpaca once per year. The fleece is used to create yarn, fabric and other products such as sweaters, blankets, rugs, scarves, and shawls. While still soft, alpaca fleece is extremely strong and thus can be made into thin fabric and still remain soft and warm. Alpaca fleece grows naturally on the animals in 22 color classifications and all shades in between ranging from white to black, shades of brown, tan, grays, rose grays and silver grays.

Breedings
Brightside Bend has Herdsires of almost every color to breed to your girls. Our bloodlines contain some of the most well-known genetics. We offer board for females to be bred for 60 days free, and no extra charge for crias. We have 12 different pastures, with separate maternity, nursery, herdsires, etc. All areas have shelters, automatic Nelson heated waterers and fans in the hot weather.

History of Our Farm
Our story about how we began creating Brightside Bend. The house is in the center of the farm.
Investment Opportunity
Alpacas have a breeding lifetime of about 15 years, with females capable of producing one cria per year. The value of the ARI Registered alpaca is high and has remained strong since they were first imported in 1984. Alpacas can vary in price, but are based upon their fleece and confirmation. Males of high quality can be Herdsires, and bring in breeding fees from $2000 to $5000.

The Kentucky Classic is a fun AOBA certified show that is held each year at the Kentucky Expo Center in Louisville, KY.

We pride ourselves in giving the best education we can so you are confortable when you take your alpacas home. We can give you advise on how to set up your shelters, fences and water. We will teach you what to feed, trim toenails, and worm your new alpacas.

Tax Advantages
Raising alpacas can offer some very attractive tax advantages. Uncle Sam will actually pay for a portion of he cost of acquiring your alpacaas, assuming you are currently paying income ax. You can write off 100% of your original purchase price - up to $250,000 - in the year of purchase.
The Camelid Family
Alpacas are cousins to the llama and are part of the camelid family. They are native to the Andean Mountain range of South America, mainly Peru, Bolivia and Chili. They were first imported into the United States in 1984.

Breeding Services
We welcome you to visit the farm, and feel confident in leaving your alpacas to be bred. We work to make sure your girls get bred promptly, and tested, and are as comfortable as they are at home.
If you don't want to have your females away from home, we offer discounts for drive-by breedings.
